Originally from Skead Ontario, Leanne Baldwin's  work is becoming more visable in Eastern Ontario.  It has been displayed from Brockville to Long Sault, with many more places to come. Always learning, she has received training in pottery, painting and glass-blowing, as well as self-taught jewelery making, mixed media art and refinishing furniture.  Her passion is Fabric sculpture.  Using nature, fantasy and the human condition as her base, Fabric Sculpture allows her to use her imagination to create sculptures that displays the beauty of the world as well as to invoke emotion in the viewer. Leanne's future hope is to teach and pass this passion on to others.

Artist Statement:
I enjoy transforming old rags and wire into something beautiful that people can enjoy and admire in their gardens or inside the house.  I am easily influenced by beautiful sites and stories, I get my ideas from everything I see and feel.   I love the clothing styles from the 1700 and 1800’s also Steampunk styles, which is shown in my work.  When finishing the sculptures my favorite finish is a metallic looking style with few colors.  I want my work to tell their own story when someone sees it.
